Do your venue hire packages include food and beverage costs?Our venue hire packages typically cover the cost of the space, basic furnishings, and staff for the event. Food and beverage costs are separate and may be customised according to your needs through our various catering packages

Do you cater to specific dietary requirements?At Quality Events, our catering team strives to accommodate various requirements and food allergies. To ensure we can cater to your needs, please provide a list of your guests/attendee's dietary requirements and menu selections at least 14 days before your event

How long do I have the space for when I hire it?The duration of venue hire will vary depending on the specific package and venue you choose. Typically, our hire periods are between 5.5 and 7 hours, but they can be flexible depending on your desired schedule. Please discuss your timing needs with one of our dedicated event managers to make suitable arrangements

How do I get to Adelaide Zoo?Zoo parking is available along Plane Tree Drive. However, to avoid driving, you can get to Adelaide Zoo via tram or bus with stops on North Terrace, Hackney Street, and East Terrace. Can I outsource a different caterer?Adelaide Zoo exclusively partners with Quality Events to provide catering services for all on-site weddings and events. Because of the zoo’s commitment to maintaining high standards of service and food quality, outsourcing to a different caterer is not permitted. Fortunately, Quality Events offers a wide range of menu options, including canapés, plated meals, buffets, and specialty dietary menus to suit the diverse needs of your guests. We won ‘Cater of the Year’ in 2020, 2021, and 2022, so you can have confidence and peace of mind in our ability to provide delicious food and exceptional service to you and your guests. Please explore our wedding brochure for detailed menu and beverage options, or contact the Quality Events team to discuss specific preferences and dietary needs.

Are tables, chairs, linen, cutlery, and glassware included in the packages?Absolutely, venue hire includes furniture, table linen, crockery, cutlery, glassware, and all the required staffing. If needed, a microphone, speaker, and projector are also available upon request. If you have any special requests or additional requirements, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Are there any restrictions or guidelines regarding decorations and setup?Adelaide Zoo and the Quality Events team have specific guidelines regarding decorations to ensure the safety and well-being of the animals and the preservation of the zoo's natural environment. Please note that the zoo does not permit disposable decorative items such as paper confetti, balloons, glitter, scatters, party poppers, straws, plastic plates, plastic cutlery, and plastic cups due to their potential risk to animals. However, rose petals and bubbles are permitted on the central lawns, providing a lovely, eco-friendly alternative to disposable decorations. It is also important to note that smoke machines and fire/pyrotechnics are also not permitted on zoo grounds. Please ensure your wedding decorator or stylist is aware of these guidelines, and feel free to ask any questions you may have with our event management team

Do you have recommendations for vendors and entertainment?Absolutely. The Quality Events team has been in the business for a long time and will happily provide you with a list of our favourite vendors and service providers. These include our favourite florists, celebrants, photographers, bands, etc.

What kind of entertainment is permitted at Adelaide Zoo?This is dependent on the type of wedding package and function space you and your partner choose. For example, DJs and acoustic and band entertainment are only permitted in the Sir Thomas Elder Rotunda and indoor conference centres. Any such entertainment must be coordinated and approved by Zoos SA and Quality Events prior to booking. Please note that noise restrictions are in place, particularly in the vicinity of animal exhibits and other quiet areas. If you have any questions about noise and entertainment guidelines or restrictions please don't hesitate to discuss these with the Quality Events team.

How long do I have the event/reception space for?The event and reception spaces at Adelaide Zoo are typically available for a set period, often around 5.5 to 7 hours. This set period is based on the package and function space you choose. If you require additional time, it may be possible to extend your booking for an additional fee, subject to availability.

What are the parking arrangements for guests?Wedding guests have access to zoo parking all along Plane Tree Drive, which can be accessed from Hackney Road. If it is an after-hours function, the gate will need to be opened by Zoo security at your agreed-upon time of arrival and departure of your guests. If you are hosting a larger event, we recommend shuttle services for your guests.
